The battery revolution is here to stay and the need to be sustainable makes it necessary to create better batteries with a minimum impact on the environment. Driven by the new Batteries Regulation, the concept of circular economy opens a new set of challenges, but also new opportunities for the creation of companies and wealth under the prism of sustainability.

“ZIRKULAR BAT Workshop. Circular Economy in the Battery Industry: Challenges and Opportunities” is an international forum, open to the public, which will be held on 13 June at Naturklima’s headquarters in San Sebastian, organised by CIDETEC Energy Storage with the collaboration of Naturklima and the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa. It will address the challenge of creating a circular economy around the battery industry, with a focus on the industrial side, covering topics as: Market overview & regulations, Logistics and handling, Second life of batteries, Recycling.

The Battery Pass Consortium will be represented by Anna Sophia Braunfels (Lead Value Assessment, Battery Pass, Systemiq Ltd.), she will present an overview of the battery passport as mandated by the EU Battery Regulation. The presentation will delve into its value, specific use cases, and related challenges, followed by an interactive discussion with workshop participants.
