The second QI-Digital Forum will take place on 10 and 11 October 2023 at DIN in Berlin under the theme “QI-Digital, Digital Product Passport & Co – Together for the Quality of the Future”. After a successfull start last year, the Forum once more invites all stakeholders active in driving the quality infrastructure forward as well as taking care of quality assurance to join the event, which will take place both on-site as well as partially hybrid. QI-Digital is an initiative of key players in German quality infrastructure (QI), namely DIN, DKE, DAkkS, PTB, and BAM. It raises the potentials of new technologies for a more efficient quality assurance, thereby supporting the design of modern QI for the digital and green transformation of the economy as well as contributing to solving the socio-economic, ecological, and technological challenges of our time.
The Battery Pass Consortium will play an integral part of the event by participating in form of several activities:
• Battery Pass Demonstrator: We will showcase an exemplary implementation of a minimum viable product of a battery passport system. This display aims to verify the concept of distributed data management, data representation, and data transfer for various battery passport use cases. Additionally, a physical demonstrator built with LegoⓇ bricks will be presented for the first time in public, which tangibly represents the circular value chain of a battery. It will showcase the lifecycle stages of a battery and illustrate the connection between each value chain step and the corresponding data in the battery passport. The physical battery passport demonstrator will be a first draft, which has been conceptualized in a collaborative effort of the consortium partners with FIWARE leading on development and assembly.
• “Battery Pass Project – from the mine to the recycler” presentation: Niko D’Agostino, Programme Director at Circulor and Battery Pass lead of the demonstrator working group will provide insights into the Battery Pass project and introduce the battery passport demonstrator built with LegoⓇ bricks on October 10, 2023, at 16:00.
• “Interplay of digital product passport and quality infrastructure” workshop: Prof. Dr. Thomas Knothe, Head of Department Business Process and Factory Management at Fraunhofer IPK, will explore the interaction between the Digital Product Passport and Quality Infrastructure on October 11, 2023, at 9:45.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to this event and introducing you to the digital battery passport in the broader context of quality infrastructure.
