The video recording of the webinar ‘Get BatteryPass-Ready – Your Test System for Battery Passport Readiness” is now available online. It covers the project’s scope and goals and features a panel with experts from VDA, VDMA, and ZIV on opportunities and challenges in implementing the EU battery passport, followed by a live Q&A.
Opportunities and Challenges
The battery passport enables more circular and digital value chains and new business models through product and data transparency and digitalization. Challenges in implementation include the high system complexity, tight implementation timelines, and a dynamic ecosystem with moving targets.
How BatteryPass-Ready Supports Implementation
The project develops a test environment to help organisations implement the EU battery passport. It is developed in close exchange with a broad partner network—including associated partners, supporting partners, and an advisory board—ensuring it takes the requirements of relevant stakeholders into account. The test environment will enable users to:
- analyze ongoing developments related to mandatory data points
- use provided test data or incorporate their own data
- test data completeness and plausibility
- help assess compliance of the battery passport with relevant standards
- conduct, monitor, and log tests
- use emulation environments — especially for components provided and operated by the European Commission (e.g. registry)
Moreover, guidance on standardisation, legislation, and implementation processes will be published, supporting the rollout of the EU battery passport.
